Assholes hair cut..

The coolest compliment I ever received from a woman. Was one day while smokin a cigarette outside the shop. She was at the shop as moral support for her friend who was gettin a tattoo. She walks outside to smoke one as well. I had been joking with them a little earlier. Anyways I said I was just being an asshole. She takes a pull of that cigarette and says to me. "You're not an asshole. You just have an assholes hair cut." Instant brownie points..

Looks like I might be gettin this soon.. Black and gray not black and red.. WIN! What would Sailor Jerry do?

Happenstance..

This came about after a conversation with some friends about Traditional Japanese style imagery. And why not incorporating contemporary iconography to it. I said why not? So here is my depiction of Batman pouncing on the Joker Traditional Japanese style. I will post the finished product when I'm done.

So I got a chance to tattoo my mom.. Too funny. I remember when I first got tattooed. I was eighteen and I walked into my moms house afterwards. I was so proud of this little dumb looking skull on the side of my leg. So I showed it to her. She cried which made me feel awful. And then I realized why she cried. She said those magic words. "Wait till your father gets home." Aww fuck my dad was goin to fuck me up for sure. I thought I was a goner. Anyways, my dad gets home and immediately my mom throws me under the bus. Look what your son did to himself she says. Oh shit! Here it comes. So I showed it to him. To my surprise he looks at it for a second and says " You're a fuckin idiot!" and proceeds to go to bed.  Haha after that it was like I had a license to get tattooed. WIN!

Ahh! There's nothing quite like hanging out with my two favorite ladies of ill repute for the night Guinness and Baby Guinness..

Started this up on an old customer friend of the shop yesterday. Good start I think. Can't wait to finish it up and get an awesome pic of it.

Other Randomnesses

So here's a little something a client of mine tagged me in on The Face Book.. I like it it's kind of cool.

The "C" tattoo at the top came about when one of my clients showed me his old school pick and poke tattoo he did on himself as a kid. I asked him if he wanted to cover it up and to my surprise he said no way it's my first one. So I said why don't we frame it.. And the rest is comedy gold.. Too funny.

So I spent all Thanksgiving day. Sick in bed. Coughing, sneezing, stuffy head and what not. I realized that I am thankful for Netflix, Coca Cola, Alka-Seltzer Cold, Saltine crackers, that awesome turkey sandwich I had. Oh and Internet Porn.. Happy Sanz Gibblin..

Some designs I've been putting together.

I remember the first time I walked into a tattoo shop. I think I was about 13 or so.I remember the tattooers in there all looked like pissed off bikers or like they were all in Metallica or what ever. Metal music blaring in the back ground. And one of them looks at me and yells out "Hey kid, get the fuck outta here!". I mean I just wanted to look at the flash. Anyways right then and there I knew that one day I wanted to yell out, "Hey kid, get the fuck outta here" too..

Well I decided to try blogging and this is mine. OK so I'm Steve Zap. I am a tattooer in Miami Florida and this is where I will be posting random life stuff and art work.
